Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration is now on shelves

Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration officially released yesterday, making September 17 the first full day after launch. The Pokémon Company built the expansion as an anniversary release rather than a normal one-and-done product drop, with cards and sealed products arriving across several waves.
Each booster contains five foil cards plus one foil Basic Energy, and every pack includes one of 30 different Pikachu illustrations. That gives the set a very collector-forward identity even before accounting for the Classic Collection and the larger anniversary products.
The rollout continues beyond launch week. Pokémon has additional 30th Celebration products scheduled for October and November, including Booster Bundles, Mini Tins, Battle Decks, the Ditto Premium Collection, the Day & Night Ultra-Premium Collection, and Mew & Mewtwo Figure Collections.
For collectors, that staggered calendar matters: September is the start of the anniversary release, not the end of it. Release-week singles and sealed prices are also still finding their footing, so the first few days are better treated as discovery than as a settled picture of the set.

Reality Fracture reaches its final scheduled preview day

Today is the last date on Wizards’ official Reality Fracture preview schedule before the complete card image gallery arrives September 18. That makes tomorrow the point where players can finally evaluate the main set without working from a moving spoiler.
There is fresh Commander material to digest as well. Wizards published the complete Multiverse Reforged decklist on September 16: a ready-to-play 100-card four-color Jace deck built around a Polymorph-style strategy, with 16 new-to-Magic cards among its contents.
Seeing that decklist alongside the nearly complete main set gives Commander players a much clearer picture of what the precon is trying to do and which Reality Fracture cards might naturally support it.
The calendar moves quickly from here. Prerelease begins September 25, and worldwide tabletop release follows October 2.

Riftbound’s new bans become active tomorrow
Effective September 18, 2026
Riot’s bans of Ekko, Recurrent and Stacked Deck in Standard and Constructed 2v2 take effect tomorrow. We covered the reasons behind those changes in the September 16 Journal, so today’s useful update is the deadline rather than another retelling of the announcement.
If either card is still in a competitive list, September 18 is the point when that list needs to be updated before sanctioned play.
